Advocacy and Community Leadership

Part of the vision of Samaritan House is to be a strong organization in the community, advocating for solutions to poverty.

Samaritan House is actively involved in community efforts to address larger issues of housing and homelessness in Lincoln County, like the monthly Affordable Housing Partners meeting. The AHP includes representatives from city government, county government, private non-profits, and housing developers. We discuss potential development projects, utilization of low-income and affordable housing incentives, policy and best practice for creating housing opportunity at every level.

In addition to Affordable Housing Partners, Samaritan House participates in collaborative groups such as the DHS Child Welfare Family Service Team, Lincoln County Parents Together/Early Learning Hub and the Lincoln County 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness.
